Argentinian writer and director Lola Arias This Norwegian wonder was awarded the International Ibsen Theater Prize.

aria has been creating works that say “that’s what theater is about” for 25 years, addressing topics such as intellectual property, ethics and the process of artistic creation, emphasized the jurisprudence.

“Engaging in short stories, dance, films, installations, compositions, poetry and theater, creation aria it has a deep argument in the context of what happened and is firmly transnational in its focus and impact,” after the foul.

The jury stands out for its distinctive contributions to the documentary theater genre, creating works with people whose lives and experiences are presented in the script, as well as the “ethical dimension” of its production.

When entering dramatic work, the jury stands out among other things. The year I was born (2012), where young Chileans relive their fathers’ youth during Pinochet’s dictatorship; The art of reading (2015), about the integration of immigrants; y Mine field (2016) where the Guerra de las Malvinas approaches with a group of veterans of the conflict.

El Ibsen Prize It was founded in 2007 by the Norwegian government and has a subsidy of 2.5 million crowns (216,000 euros, 234,000 dollars).

His list of awards includes playwrights such as Brits Peter BrookNorway Jon FossAustrian Petr Handke and an Australian company Back to Back Theatreenjoyed the past year.

The award will be presented there National Theater in Oslo next October 13.
