Loch Ness Monster, new photo reignites mystery. “Something rolled into the lake and then disappeared”

Chia KellyThe 52-year-old woman was on holiday with her family in Ascot, Berkshire, in 2018. She and her husband Scott, 69, saw an eel-like animal moving around in the lake but realized there was nothing strange. For fear of ridicule, the woman decided not to publish the photos until last August, when hundreds of volunteers joined the search for the Loch Ness Monster.

Story

On 13 August 2018 Mrs Kelly was out walking with her family after lunch at Dores. He was taking pictures with his camera when he saw a moving “monster” in the lake about 200 meters from the shore. These are his words about the sighting after an interview with the Mirror: «Sometimes it twisted and rolled. We never saw the head or neck. After a few minutes he just disappeared and we never saw him again. At first I wondered if it was an otter, a pair of otters or a seal, but we never saw the head and it never came up again. It was making a strange movement on the surface. We didn’t hear any sound. Beneath the surface were these strange shapes. I couldn’t make out any color because the water was dark. I couldn’t accurately estimate its length, but the two visible parts together were less than two meters long. I don’t know what it was, but it was definitely a creature, an animal. At that point, I didn’t want to face public ridicule by posting the photos».

Meeting

In August 2023, the family decided to return to Ascot and saw a group of volunteers taking part in one of the biggest searches for the Loch Ness Monster in 50 years. At that point, Chie Kelly decided to show the photos to Mr. Feltham, a prominent figure among Nessie watchers (the name of the Loch Ness Monster), who was amazed: «These are the exact photos I’ve wanted to take for three decades. It’s rare to see something so clear on the surface. They are a confirmation for all the people who believe that there is something inexplicable in Loch Ness. They are remarkable, I have studied them and I still don’t know what they are about».
